REASONS WE SHOULD CREATE BAJA ARIZONA
Why should we create Baja Arizona and for what reasons would we even think about splitting Arizona in half and creating a 51st state. There are plenty of reasons and I hope to outline them to you in the following disscussion, hoping that they make sense.
1) Diversity
Southern Arizona is a very diverse place. We have our own culture here and our own environment. Southern Arizona is one of the few places on earth that has Saguaro cactus (there is no saguaro cactus that I am aware of around Phoenix). We also have our own unique environment of the Sonoran Desert and the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum celebrates that. Notice, the ASDM (Arizona Sonora Desert Museum) does not have any mention of Phoenix and solely talks about Southern Arizona. We have our own rivers as well including the San Pedro, Santa Cruz, Gila, and the Colorado. Southern Arizona is also a very culturally diverse place. Tucson is filled with architectural wonders from Hokohom dwellings to the San Xavier, Pima County Courthouse, and the Presidio. Other places in Southern Arizona, just to name a few, that have notable culture are the Tubac Presidio, Bisbee, Tombstone, Douglas, Casa Grande, and the list goes on and on. Tucson is home to many other big attractions to like the Pima County Fair, Accenture Golf Tournament, Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, Tucson Gun Shows, and Old Tucson. We also have one of the best and biggest universities in Arizona, the University of Arizona. Our city and county is flowing with Hispanic culture and many other cultures, increasing our diversity. Therefore, Baja Arizona is so diverse that it is totally feasible to create a seperate state with its own culture like Alabama or Texas.
2) Politics
Another thing spurring forward the move for Baja Arizona is the "fedupness" of Tucsonans with Phoenix's politics. Our state is one of the worst-funded states for public and education and are ranked near the lowest of the nation due to our legislatures "slash-and-burn" policy towards public education. Our state also seems to have no respect for our environment and has implemented many procedures which are only strangling the environmental quality of Arizona, especially Southern Arizona, by  refusing to regulate certain environtally-harmful activities. The Arizona Legislature is also acting with a very "seperatist" attitude by intentionally trying to seize federal lands and acts like it wants to leave the Union. Also, ridiculous measures like SB1070 have only made matters worse as the politicians in Phoenix attempt to eliminate Hispanics and immigrants from our state, sticking there nose into our business. There are many more still why we should become the 51st STATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. LET'S GET THIS STATE ON THE ROW AND RID SOUTHERN ARIZONA FROM THE OPPRESSIVE GRIP OF NUT-CRACKING CONSERVATIVE MANIACS LIKE JAN BREWER, AL MELVIN, and so on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
